If you have driven past 1818 Woodward Drive in Ottawa this week, you may have noticed that something looks different.
The stone facade is the same. The glass frontage showcases a couple of our projects. The entrance we have welcomed clients through for years. But the identity the building wears is entirely new and unmistakably ours.
The deep black awnings now carry our horizontal ASTRO DESIGN INC. logo. The AD monogram replaces the well-known "golden butterfly" on flag banners flanking each window. And above the entrance, our new illuminated sign: the AD mark, standing in light against the building's pale stone. By day, it is a refined architectural statement. After dark, it glows, a quiet signal on Woodward Drive that something is happening inside.
This past weekend, the final elements of our exterior rebrand went up. And we want to share what it means, and what comes next.
The Outside Is Just the Beginning
The new exterior is the first chapter of a larger story.
Inside, the showroom is at the beginning of its own transformation. Over the coming months, we will be introducing new vignettes, one at a time, as the space evolves into something that reflects the full depth of our design philosophy: Living The Art of Design, Creating for You, The Art of Living. It will not happen all at once. It is a gradual process, and that is intentional.
Good design is never rushed. The showroom will develop the way a well-designed home does: thoughtfully, with each new element considered in relation to everything around it. Each new vignette will introduce a material direction, a product collection, or a design moment that reflects how we are thinking about interiors right now.
We want you to be part of that process. Come in early. See it at the beginning. Come back as it evolves.
What You Will See When You Visit Now
The showroom today is a working space: the product collections our design team specifies, the stone and material samples we use to make real decisions with Atelier's clients, and the hardware, fixture, and lighting selections that form the foundation of our practice and are the stars in it.
It is not yet the new finished showroom experience. But it is an honest one, and always useful for any homeowner in the planning phase of a renovation. You will find kitchen and bathroom products worth touching, comparing, and taking time to take in. And you will be among the first to see each new layer as it arrives.
Why This Moment Matters
This year, Astro Design Inc. turns thirty.
Thirty years of kitchen and bathroom design in Ottawa. Thirty years of materials sourced, trades coordinated, and clients trusted with some of the most significant investments of their lives. Thirty years of a practice that began with exceptional craft and has evolved, deliberately and patiently, into something broader: a full-home design authority for the Ottawa region.
The exterior rebrand is the outward expression of that evolution. The showroom transformation is the interior one. Both are expressions of the same commitment: to design every detail of this practice the way we design every detail of a client project. With intention. With care. And with expertise.
Living The Art of Design, Creating for You, The Art of Living: that is the standard we are holding ourselves to, in every room of this building, as we build toward something worth seeing.
